The Mu Sigma Phi Sorority is an unbroken line of over a thousand lady doctors from the University of the Philippines Manila, duly recognized by the college and university, and registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines.
SISTERHOOD is the quality that distinguishes a sorority from other organizations, and so it is the women of the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority that sets it apart from all other sororities. We have, as our heritage, 75 years of women dedicated to our ideals of SISTERHOOD, SERVICE, SCHOLARSHIP and LEADERSHIP, and we count, among our ranks, a line of lady doctors dating back to 1934. As the first medical sorority in our university, in our country, and in Asia, we can count on the help and support of over a thousand qualified physicians from all the fields of medicine. Our membership spans our country's archipelago and crosses the seven seas. We have alumnae chapters in our country, as well as in the USA.
This year, we have been adjudged as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) in the Seventh Annual TAYO Awards. Claiming the distinction of being the first sorority to be conferred such merit, the most prestigious given to a youth organization in the country, the Sorority bested over 200 entries with Tutok GaMUtan: Kapit-Bisig Laban sa TB, a multi-pronged, multi-sectoral collaborative program against tuberculosis launched in May 2008 for the Dumagat tribe in Calawis, Antipolo. The same project has been entered as the Philippine's sole entry to the World Youth Awards in Malaysia by the National Youth Commission.
